Normally my fans would turn off at this GPU core temperature, but because I'm overclocking the memory and they are getting hotter than usual, the GPU raised the fans to spin at 70% on its own.
Getting about 96 MH/s on T-Rex or nbminer or Phoenix miner with Dagger Hashimoto This will tell you if your memory is running too hot or not.Įxample: I have my Asus 3080 locked at 800mv to test for now, 1200mhz GPU clock speed (-275mhz on slider), 10200mhz memory (which is about +950mhz on the slider), and core temperature is about 45c with auto fans speed sitting about 70%. Then leave fan speed on auto since the vbios can read the memory temperatures and will automatically set the fan speed according to how hot the memory is also. You can leave the power slider at 100% then just lock the core voltage at 800mv or whatever number you find is stable, this way the memory is still able to get all the power it needs since you're probably overclocking the memory. Which will affect how much power can go to the memory as well.
If you just keep reducing the power slider then that reduces how much total power the entire card can use. Now your GPU clock will be a flat line since it's locked at that voltage and speed. Then click on a point on the curve that is the voltage you want and press the L button to lock in that voltage and GPU core speed. It's more efficient to press Ctrl + f to bring up the voltage curve and adjust that. If you look at the graphs your GPU clock is probably bouncing around a lot and isn't sitting as a flat line. I've read lots of times ppl are just reducing the power limit slider to like 60-70% and that's it for reducing power usage (Watts).
